Data Developer at SAVii

Overview

The Decision Science team acts as a central hub for asking analysis questions. We are a small team of developers and analysts who believe in impact driven work. We believe in democratization of data and are major supporters of knowledge distribution to empower the company. We don't shy away from getting our hands dirty whenever it comes to anything data and we demand critical and collaborative debate when tackling problems.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Data Developer will expand and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimize their data flow and collection for cross functional teams. Their responsibilities include:

• Building robust, efficient and reliable data pipelines consisting of diverse data sources, both internal and external, to ingest and process data into our database (BigQuery, Mysql, Hubspot).
• Designing and developing real time streaming and batch processing pipeline solutions
• Assembling large, complex data sets and optimizing data structures to minimize costs and maximize utility
• When needed, working with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and queries as it relates to our databases.
• As needed, extract and model data for ad-hoc analysis
• Sharing knowledge with immediate peers and build communities and connections that promote better technical practices across the organization

Skills and Experience

• Proven working experience as database developer for 2+ years preferably in building data lake solutions ingesting and processing data from various source systems
• Experience developing ELT processes for unstructured data, maintaining cloud based databases (BigQuery preferred), and deep experience in SQL
• In-depth understanding of Data Management practices and Database technologies
• Ability to work in team in diverse, fast-paced Agile environment
• Implement test cases and test automation.
