Enterprise Demand Generation Lead job description

About Maxima

Nobody went into accounting to spend the first week of every month matching transactions by hand. Maxima was built so they don't have to. Our agents do the accounting work itself: journal entries, transaction matching, reconciliations, and flux analysis, in real time and to SOX standards. Accountants review and approve. Nothing posts without a person signing off. We remove the grind, not the human.

Maxima is the first agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting. Our founders oversaw the finance org at Rubrik and built the month-end close systems at Twitter and Netflix. We've raised $41M from Redpoint Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, and Audacious Ventures, and we're backed by finance leaders at OpenAI, Rubrik, and Vanta. Maxima runs in production at Scale AI, Rippling, Glean, and SpotOn.

We are early, we are growing fast, and we are hiring people who would rather build the category than join it. Here is one way to do that.

The role

As the Enterprise Demand Generation Lead, you will build our pipeline engine and run it: integrated campaigns, account-based marketing, paid acquisition, lifecycle and nurture, field marketing and events, experimentation, and the systems underneath. This is a hands-on, builder-operator role with senior scope, and we are flexible on title for the right person.

The mandate has two halves. Capture the demand that already exists for close management, where buyers know the category and are actively looking. And create demand for a category they do not yet have a name for: agentic AI that does the accounting work itself. As our deals move towards more enterprise contracts, the engine has to be built for an enterprise buyer rather than tuned for a mid-market one.

Our audience is controllers and senior accounting leaders at mid-market and enterprise companies. They are pressed for time, allergic to hype, and responsible for some of the highest-stakes workflows in the business. The marketing that reaches them has to be rigorous, and it should not be boring.

What you'll do

  • Design the demand architecture for an enterprise buyer: which programs run against which accounts, in which channels, and how they connect

  • Build and run integrated, multi-channel campaigns against target enterprise accounts, from positioning brief to activation across paid, ABM, events, and lifecycle

  • Build and run account-based marketing programs that engage target accounts and their buying groups

  • Own paid acquisition, lifecycle and nurture programs, and website conversion

  • Own field marketing and events as part of the campaign mix

  • Run experiments across channels, messaging, audiences, and formats; double down on what drives pipeline and stop what does not

  • Own campaign tracking, attribution, and pipeline reporting with go-to-market engineering and RevOps

  • Set goals, manage budgets, and report on pipeline and revenue contribution

What we're looking for

  • Experience building and scaling an enterprise B2B demand generation engine; you have carried a pipeline number yourself, not run alongside someone else's

  • Depth across the enterprise demand toolkit: integrated campaigns, ABM, paid acquisition, lifecycle and nurture, events, and marketing operations

  • Experience taking a company upmarket, from mid-market deals into six-figure enterprise contracts

  • Experience with a category that had to be explained before it could be sold; demand creation, not only demand capture

  • A point of view: you arrive with opinions on what excellent enterprise demand generation looks like and how to build it here

  • Creative range: you have shipped B2B campaigns a consumer brand would have been happy to run, and you can show what they did to pipeline

  • Fluency with the modern go-to-market stack and with AI in your daily workflow

  • Strategic and hands-on: you can set direction and then execute it yourself in an early-stage environment where you are building from zero

  • Enterprise B2B experience specifically; consumer and product-led growth are different disciplines and do not substitute

Nice to have

  • Experience marketing to finance and accounting buyers

  • Experience managing marketers or leading across functions

  • Experience with HubSpot, Clay, and an AI-native ABM stack

  • Experience marketing AI or agentic products

Where and how you'll work

This role is based in our San Mateo office. We value in-person collaboration and are in office four to five days a week for our on-site roles.

Why join Maxima

  • The work. Agentic accounting is a category being defined right now, and Maxima is one of the companies defining it. The product does the accounting work itself, so what you build, sell, or deploy shows up in a customer's books

  • The people. Founders who ran the finance org at Rubrik and built the close systems at Twitter and Netflix. Engineers from Robinhood, Glean, Google, Netflix, and Meta. Controllers and accountants on the team who have closed books themselves. Small teams in San Mateo and Toronto that work in the same room, say what they think, and hold a high bar

  • The benefits. Competitive salary, 401(k) for US employees, unlimited PTO, lunch in the office, and commuter benefits

  • The process. A person reads every application, and we tell you where you stand at every stage

A note on AI

We build AI and we expect you to use it. Use it to research us and to prepare. In live conversations we want your own thinking in your own words, and if you use AI on a take-home exercise, tell us where it helped.

Equal opportunity

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, marital status, or any other legally protected status.
