Senior Platform Engineer | Climate Tech startup job description
Intro
We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to own and evolve our cloud infrastructure, and help us scale it securely. You'll work across AWS, IaC, CI/CD, and security/compliance, making pragmatic decisions that balance speed, reliability, and risk. This isn't a ticket-taking role: we want someone who designs systems, takes ownership, and enables the engineering team to move fast without breaking things.Please note: at this stage we're not able to offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must already have the right to work in Germany.
Your tasks
- Design, build, and maintain our AWS infrastructure (VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, multi-account setups)
- Own infrastructure as code with Terraform: keeping it clean, scalable, and auditable
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment processes
- Drive observability: logging, monitoring, and alerting across the stack
- Support ISO 27001 and SOC 2 audit readiness and ongoing compliance
- Lead incident response and contribute to reliability engineering (SRE fundamentals)
- Enable other engineering teams: remove blockers, don't create them
Your profile
- Strong hands-on AWS experience: VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, networking, multi-account setups
- Solid Terraform / IaC ownership: you've built and maintained it in production
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment practices
- Security fundamentals: IAM, encryption, secrets management, KMS
- Exposure to ISO 27001 and/or SOC 2 (audit support at minimum)
- Observability experience: logging, monitoring, alerting at scale
- Calm under pressure, pragmatic about trade-offs, clear communicator across teams
Nice to have:
- ISO 27001 / SOC 2 ownership and certification experience
- DevSecOps tooling (SAST/DAST, SBOMs, scanning)
- Threat modeling, or continuous compliance automation.
Please not that this role is required to be in the office 2/3 times per week
