About Lunar Outpost Oceania

Are you ready to undertake electrical design efforts that expand the frontiers of space exploration with cutting edge space robotics? Lunar Outpost Oceania is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer Intern to join our fast-paced, dynamic team. In this role, you will support design and develop electrical systems for spacecraft and associated technologies. Your work will contribute to groundbreaking projects in lunar mobility and in-situ resource utilisation.

During this 12 week internship, you will be required to work on a full time basis onsite in Burnley.

Applicants must have full, unrestricted working rights for Australia. 


Position Description

As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will:

  • Contribute to electrical schematic, PCB and harness design.
  • Support development of electrical hardware and systems.
  • Assist with PCB manufacturing and assembly.
  • Conduct hardware testing and qualification, including test firmware development.
  • Research solutions to electrical integration challenges.
  • Address radiation and environmental requirements.
  • Assist with harness manufacturing and assembly.
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineers on design and validation.
  • Prepare technical writing and documentation.
  • Adhere to safety and ESD protocols at all stages of work.


Preferred Disciplines

Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Engineering.



Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience studying an engineering discipline at university.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and software developers, to integrate electrical systems with other components.
  • Confidence to participate in design reviews and provide feedback and recommendations to improve system performance.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in Australia.
