Electronics Technician job description
Position Summary
Under the supervision of an Engineer perform basic electronics assembly tasks including soldering, electronics chassis assembly and testing, cable terminations, and other related basic electronics work.
Attention to detail, the ability to interpret drawings, and a focus on safety are musts and is key to success in this role.
This is a part-time internship position with expectation of up to 20 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Familiarity with Electrical and electronics fundamentals
Ability to read schematics and diagrams on installation of parts, wire, and components
Test and troubleshoot with a meter for accuracy
Knowledgeable of wire types and sizes
Possess knowledge of basic hand tools and ability to use and care for them
Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager
Strong reading comprehension, attention to detail, and organized
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds independently, with assistance or appropriate equipment for heavier items
Up to 20 hours per week availability, must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends when needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to be punctual and dependable
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to route wires neatly
Proficient in basic math (algebra)
Proficient in all types of measuring tools as required
Proficient in using computers to obtain and document information
Familiarity with more advanced testing equipment such as an oscilloscope
Experience in a panel shop setting
Knowledgeable of UL 508A standards and practices
