Novo Space provides products for developing space systems, including tailored subsystems, electronic boards, and FPGA IP cores. Electronic boards include single-board computers, mass memory units, and GPUs, and are based on the SpaceVPX standard. FPGA IP cores are radiation-tolerant for space environments and support protocols such as SpaceWire, SpaceFibre, Ethernet, TCP/IP, CCSDS, and NAND controllers. The company aims to simplify space system development and enable reuse across missions using open standards.

Hardware Designer job description

Novo Space is a vibrant startup developing high-performance, radiation-tolerant computers to support the growing need for autonomous systems, machine learning in space and other data-intensive processing technologies. The products we build together will be at the heart of future weather forecasting, geolocation, earth observation, and communication satellites, and will help humankind improve life on this planet and conquer other planets in our solar system. 


Hardware Designer


About the position:

The Hardware Designer will develop electronic circuit boards (schematics and PCBs) which will be integrated into our satellite computers. In addition, he/she will perform the necessary failure analyses and simulations to increase our products’ reliability, including any necessary tests on the hardware.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Schematics analysis and design (analog and digital circuits)
  • PCB analysis and design
  • Failure analysis and simulations
  • Testing and troubleshooting
  • Documentation


REQUIRED education, work experience, knowledge/skills:


  • Advanced knowledge in electronics engineering

  • Schematic circuits design

  • PCB design

  • Embedded systems design and troubleshooting

  • Experience in the use of electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)

  • Knowledge of computer and microprocessor architectures
  • Intermediate English level

 

DESIRABLE education, work experience, knowledge/skills:


  • Software Altium

  • Python

  • FPGA, HDL (VHDL/Verilog), and simulation


Other required skills:


  • Critical and analytical thinking

  • Detail-oriented

  • Self-motivation

  • Problem-solving

  • Creativity
